Stroll down memory lane

I was fortunate to have a person in my life who happens to recollect some of the enduring moments from the past. Have been noticing him for quite a while and its interesting to see that he not only does that to me but to everyone around him! Not very many people I know can do that or even care to do that. They just blame it on work, life and move on. They don't have time for all this. While I have the time and an inclination for that somehow I thought people would not be interested in hearing it often. I was so wrong about it. I should have done that to as many people as possible in my life. For me life is nothing other than touching someones life with your words or your love towards them. There is always someone out there in my life who truly deserves it! And I am glad I learnt this quality from this person. 'Better late than never'!

Its very true sometimes we all hold so much grudge and bitter memories than those sweet memories in life. It would be nice if we could differentiate between good and evil and move forward in life. I regret the fact that sometimes I could not come out of those useless moments and I even feel the stream of tide inside myself. May be its possible because the amount of pain we have gone threw simply makes our mind cant give up that easily as we wish. Easier said than done. But eventually we all have to do that if not for us at least for our peace of mind.

Its so nice whenever someone recollects all those beautiful moments in life. It brings so much joy within you and to the person who shares it with you. It brings more meaning to your life. You could be a naughty or silly or even a crazy person in life but no matter what, there is always someone out there who sees you, will be with you all the time and loves you for what you are rather than what you have to be. There are very few people in our life who would stick around with us through thick and thin. Its high time for all of us to value those people simply because they should be treasured.

Thank you Ganapathi Na for taking me every time to the incredible memory lane. It not only makes me happy but I also learnt and realized the true value of recollecting those beautiful moments in life and sharing it with the respective person. I will strive to give more of it to others in future too.

Fun talking in Conference call

Have anyone tried talking with friends in conference calls frequently? I tell you, Its too much fun when you do that with your close ones. Especially if you happen to be a fun group then the time is just priceless. I have recently started doing that with my family group often and its really interesting to see how much we all enjoy being together. Thanks to the technology, distance is not blocking us for being together now.

Conference calls are real fun especially if you are gifted with a humorous person in your group, your time will just go and on with lots of giggles and quick wits. After doing this for quite a while, I would like to say that conference calls develops a bonding within your group of people, leaves more good memories, its real fun, brings fresh laugh, develops cell phone etiquette, informative (if you are an intelligent group!), even gossip!, clears misunderstandings and so on. Even if you are someone who can initiate and entertain by your talking, It will over time make you patiently listen to someone when he/she is talking.

You could even surprise someone in conference call. Some time back when one of my cousin sisters birthday happened, I called all other sisters and made everyone to wish her on call. She had really nice time talking with everyone. She was so happy and surprised as well.

In this fast world, you need to take some initiative to be with your group of people or atleast talk with your people occasionally rather than blaming it on your busy routine. Please dont give yourself a reason not to be in touch with your friends, cousins, siblings and with all your loved ones.

Pick your phone and talk to someone and share some nice things today. If possible talk to your group now. And please dont blame me for your phone bill ;-)

Appreciation

For so many people I knew I doubt whether they might even come across this word in their life. Its really a hard time for me to listen to all their criticism that they just throw out on every single person they meet in their life but when it comes to appreciation that's it they would rather stay numb than to react. I don't think its that bad or tough job to appreciate someone truly. When you appreciate someone's work, you are indeed encouraging the person to strive better in his/her field. Likewise when you appreciate someone's valuable time with you, it better shows how much you enjoy the person's company. Appreciation of any kind indeed makes both of you happy.

I do believe when you criticize and force someone to do a work ends in a different land while when you encourage and appreciate the person's work will land somewhere that you would not even imagined the level of end result. The difference is huge. So before you point a finger at someone to dishearten their feelings, better understand that your other three fingers are pointing towards you!

Here I would like to include about a book I read long back and was the first one to come to my mind when I thought about the important quality of appreciation in life. Its "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. If you get an opportunity please give it a try. I am sure you will love it and then there is lot more to learn from it. The basic quality which the author emphasis throughout the book is how to appreciate, encourage and influence people at work or at home.

And again I would like to add this too. Please don't work on anything expecting an appreciation from anyone in your life. Be sincere and give your heart to anything you do and I am sure you will deserve more in life.

Appreciate people for their good work and you will be remembered forever in their life. Pat someone's shoulder to see even their eyes could smile.

Home Plants

I always enjoyed planting plants in and around my home in my native in India. I loved watching it grow each day. Especially when the plant shows a rare bud, the happiness is just boundless. Sometimes, some plants used to die on its own or fewer times someone must have destroyed it unintentionally. It happened with me so many times and I used to feel so bad about it. Inspite of everything when you happen to see the flower from your plant in which you have given your heart to, that moment is just priceless. Its really worth a wait for the bloom.

Gardening is a wonderful activity for those who are in love with it. No other activity could come close to it for the amount of joy you get everytime you see a flower or fruit or vegetable out of it. Its like seeing your own kids grow up in front of your eyes. Although my home here has very little area for plants unlike my native place, I still have very good collection of indoor plants. My love for plants grows here too and thanks to all the potted plants.

Since the Spring has already begun and adding fewer more to the plant collection would be an apt time now. Checked in some plant stores and bought some good ones this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there by seeing all the collections in each stores. Each store has some unique collections of plants and shrubs. Now my collection has few Tulips, Red Gerbera, Arthurian flower, Orange Hibiscus and few more plants.

In one particular store we saw a particular plant seed named 'Bleeding heart'! The picture of the flower on the seed bag showed us why its been called like that. The outstanding characteristic of bleeding hearts is no doubt the shape of the flowers. As the plants common name suggests bleeding hearts bear heart-shaped flowers, from which a little "drop of blood" dangles at the bottom! Googled it and collected few more information about the plant and I am going to get its seeds very soon. Absolutely loved its pictures on the internet. Its one of God's finest creation!

Nice Quotes

Sometimes we come across some nice quotes either through messages to our cell phone or through today's thought in social networking sites or even through books. Somehow we get to see some very nice quotes in someway in our life. But whether we consider taking it to our life is a different perspective! And I am pretty sure at certain time we all must have crossed that 'Wow' moment just by looking at those incredible quotes. Here are few 'Wows' I recently felt and wanted to share it here.....

The reason why people talk behind your back is because you are ahead of them.

You wait a lifetime to meet someone who understands you, accepts you as you are. At the end you find that the someone, all along's been You!

You can't store your heart in a safe deposit box. Better start using it.

Ever heard of if you've got nothing nice to say don't say it? at all?

You don't need to explain your dreams. They belong to you.

Don't allow your wounds to transform you into someone you are not.

Love can take us to heaven or hell, but it always takes us somewhere.

Love doesn't start in morning and end in evening. It starts when you don't need it and ends when you need it most.

We love ourselves even after doing many mistakes. Then how can we hate others for their one mistake. Think before you hate someone or hate yourself.

Three beautiful words in life!

If you think that it has to be "I love you", I am sorry you are wrong! When I was in college I was so fortunate to be a student for a particular lecturer who taught English at that time. She taught us about Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a romantic comedy. The way she taught us, the way she explained about Shakespeare's play, her way of narration, her English language and her pronunciation was so perfect and I have fallen in love with her classes. She will always be my favorite lecturer. She was so very nice, friendly and sweet only to our batch at that time, in fact she even admitted herself on the last day that she liked our batch in particular. Usually she happen to be a demon for all other batches!

I just loved the way she used to read out and explain every sentence in that book and it was a pleasure to listen to her classes. I was so taken aback by her classes that I made myself a promise that I would score good marks in that particular paper. Fortunately I did! I was a topper in that particular paper in the entire college. Hers was the only class I never dreamt of anything whereas I only listened and my love for English language grew much fonder because of her.

One particular day just out of the subject she questioned us about the three wonderful words in life. We didn't knew exactly what she really meant by that. Then she said these words to us "Its Sorry, Thanks, and Love! And when you say these words to anyone, please mean it"! What a beautiful thought from a very very nice person! I better understood her words then and will value her words forever in life.

How many of us are so generous to say these words to others? Not very many. Most of the time we take things for granted and even at times we hurt people and their emotions! There are very many times I have seen people who just hold to themselves without letting it go from them. It would be nice if we could express and mean those words to the right person at the right time. Those words hold so much meaning in life and please, please mean it when you say it.

Jones Mam, I really loved your classes and I was so fortunate to be your student. I really wish I were your student the whole time in my college days. I miss you so very much. Just happen to notice that you moved out of the college where I met you. I really dont have any idea where you are now but wherever you are, my love and respect for you would never change. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration in my life. I owe you so much in life.

Wonder how many teachers in our life touch this much. A person like Jones Mam could be a rare jewel in teaching profession! To all the teachers out there, please try to inspire your students and bring out the passion from every child you know. Its not only the lessons u teach from the books makes you a good teacher but its also the way you interact and inspire your students shows what a best teacher you are. Just like My Jones Mam, She's the best! 'Sorry Mam that I lost in touch with you, 'Thank you Mam for being such an inspiration and 'I love You Mam for being so nice to me! You will always be remembered in my life and I miss you so much.

Houston Trip

After a very long time took a long drive to Houston. I really love traveling. I always love to visit places and see different people in those places. I must have inherited this love for travel from my brother. He is an avid traveler. Someway or the other he would plan a trip and visit some unique places. He will make all the necessary steps to make his trip worthwhile. Loved watching him do that every time and for most of the times grudgingly I saw those places in his snaps because he would not take me with him!

Had a wonderful time in Houston. We first visited Sri Meenakshi Temple in Pearland near to Houston. Very Very nice temple. The whole atmosphere was so silent and had a very nice feel. First time stepped into a temple of this size in US, had visited few temples in and around my place though. Temple is a place where all your energies are at peace I guess. The whole place was so natural and I felt as though I am visiting a temple in my native place in India. It was so peaceful. I should say that the food in the cafeteria is too cheap and very good. A well maintained and a well organized temple in US.

Then went to NASA in Houston. It really brought back some memories of my college days where I felt terrible to take the news of Columbia disaster in 2003 as we lost our very own Astronaut Kalpana Chawla. Saw her pictures in one of those collections on the wall now. I have heard that they have planted a tree in the name of her in the Memorial Grove even before visiting this place. I tried to see it myself when we were all taken to the NASA sight through a tram tour, unfortunately I could not able to find hers. More than in a tree I hope she is up there in one of those stars! Thats where she dreamed all her life and thats where she belongs even now!

Always loved to take a long drive in US. Just by listening to some good music with a good company and seeing places makes me feel so light inside. Had a wonderful trip, bit tiring though. Looks like most of the must see places in Texas is already visited by me! Everything is big in Texas unfortunately there are very few places to hang around. May be I need to look for other states from now on :-)
